Update From Your AWANA Missionary Family in Brazil January 2009 A Mirror Renato saw an old woman with her car parked on the shoulder of the road. It was raining a lot and it was night. Realizing she needed help and was afraid, he stopped and said: “I’ll help you, don’t worry. You may wait in the car, where it’s warm. My name is Renato.” It was only a flat tire, but for the old woman, it was bad enough. While Renato was finishing changing the tire, she opened the window and started a conversation. She said she was just passing by and didn’t know how to thank him. She asked how much she owed him, but Renato wasn’t thinking about money. He simply wanted to help, he answered: “If you want to pay, when you meet someone in need, help them.” Miles later, the woman entered a restaurant. With a sweet smile, the waitress brought her a towel to dry her hair. She was eight months pregnant, but didn’t let the pain change her attitude. At that moment, the old woman remembered Renato. After her meal, while the waitress was getting the change, the woman left. When the waitress got back to the table, she noticed a napkin with something written on it, along with four hundred-dollar bills. She cried while reading: “You don’t owe me anything, I’ve got enough. Someone helped me today and, in the same way, I’m helping you. If you want to pay me back, don’t let this love cycle end, help someone”. The waitress went home tired that night and lay down. Her husband was sleeping; she thought about the money and the note. How had that lady known how much they needed that money? With a baby on the way, things had been difficult! She smiled, thanked God, turned to her husband, gave him a tender kiss and whispered: “Everything is going to be ok! I love you, Renato”. Life is just like that: A Mirror! “Cast thy bread upon the waters: for thou shalt find it after many days”. Indoor Soccer and Volleyball Clinics in Itapeva and Nova Campina, SP. In the first two weeks of January, along with PIB Itapeva and the missionaries Ricardo and Camila, Teacher Wilson and Janice, Paulao, Robert, we held two clinics, in which we reached 140 kids, 30 of whom accepted Christ. Pray for the ministry in those cities to continue and that they may glorify our God.
